Hey guys! CHECK THIS OUT! It blowed my brains out!! It'll probably blow yours too! haha XD

there's this guy on the forum i joined (My Les Paul forums), his username there is rockinlespaul.. his name is Fred..

let me cut it here though and go back a little bit..

there's this one thread in the forum that was started by our admin their, flickofflash is his username, but we all call him flick =D

he said.. "HolyGrail [another member in the forum] once said to me, "imagine if everyone did one thing nice for a complete stranger each day how it would change our world " then he said ......... wtf haha lol.."

i jokingly replied to the thread and said, "i'm trying to imagine if someone here would be nice enough to give me a birthday gift on oct. 25.. haha XD"

2 days later (today), i checked the forum and there was one thread there entitled 'Paging midnightdreamer' (that's me =D ..) .. it was a thread by rockinlespaul.. Fred.. he gave me his email and told me to email him.. so i did.. =D

the following is our exchange of emails and at the end is the exchange of messages we made in a ym chat (which we should have done in the first place XD ..)

well you might be disappointed with what im about to
say.. .. but im pretty sure ive mentioned it on the
forum though that.....................
i do not have an electric guitar yet
i had a real cheap strat replica made by suzuki when
i was back in the philippines.. unfortunately, when i flew here,
i couldn't bring it with me cuz it was too much for me to bring..
what i was able to bring was my Seagull acoustic and right
now that's all ihave.. i also have a Boss ME-50 effects processor
that my uncle gave for my birthday but i haven't really been
able to use it since my amplifier went screwy
shortly after i got the ME-50.. thus i haven't
really witnessed the ME-50's full potential. and since
i dont have a guitar right now, it's just beencollecting dust..

When is your birthday?

Me: October 25.. 1990 if ya wanna know the year

How long have you been playing? Do you plan on playing
a long time? I mean...do you really enjoy playing?

Me: oops.. hehe ok yeah.. it's oct. 25
do i enjoy playing? heaven yeah!!!!!!!
playing guitar and music are strong passions of
mine.. in fact, if only music was a more stable
career, i would have taken up music in college and
gone that route / career path.. but since music
can't guarantee a very successful career, im not
going that route..
instead, im aiming to become a doctor (which is
another interest of mine) while keeping music as
something i will ALWAYS have by my side
when i reach retiring age, i'd like to open up a
guitar store with the money ive made being a
doctor..
ive been playing for about 4 or 5 years now since i
was 12.. .. i just finished learning this new song
by andy mckee called for my father.. it's a great
song and i dedicate it to my dad since it was his
borthday this past 16th of sept, but most especially
to the Lord cuz he's so awesome XD
so playing wise ive kinda been sticking to acoustic
songs / pieces since i dont have an electric guitar
to play with.. i cant wait to start getting serious
with electric guitar.. lead and all that stuff.. i
think ive gone pretty far in terms of my ability
with an acoustic guitar, but i know that with
electric guitar, i still have a lot to learn

Me: well i did have one when i was in the philippines..
again, it was cheap.. but i was happy with what i
had.. can't be happy about it when it became broken
though
i posted a thread in the squawk box forum (tube amp
for 500 please) cuz im kinda researching in advance
what's a good amp to buy.. i was hoping to make
enough money come time my birthday passes by so i
could treat myself thing is, at this rate, since i
lost my job last week, it'll probably be delayed
till the end of the year or early next year..
hopefully no later than that...

This is the deal...from time to time, I like to do
things for people who deserve them. It's been a while

I've been reading some of your threads and I wanted to
hear what you had to say about some things. I heard
what I was hoping to hear. You've been playing a while
so it's not a passing fade for you. You believe in
God...that's a biggie there. You have goals in life,
etc...
When October comes, you send me your address. I'm
sending you a decent electric and a amp. No cost ever,
just remember it and do something for someone down the
road who needs it. I don't ever want anything in
return.
I will make one request, and that is to say nothing
about it on the forum until your birthday. If you want
to after that, thats fine.

Fred: Its one of my favorites. what kind of music do you like?

Me: rock most essentially.. ALL types.. the kind of rock
that caters to my youth .. christian rock, emo
rock, punk rock, hard rock, metal, grunge, etc.. as
well as the rock of era before me which is really
truly timeless i believe .. the likes of ledzep,
acdc, aerosmith, metallica, and the likes.. as well
as from the 90's (influence from my dad ) .. bands
like pearl jam, stone temple pilots, etc..
i also LOVE blues, jazz, alternative stuff, --
less louder genres.. i really appreciate the mellow
side of music as well.. it's really hard to explain
my taste, but i'd like to describe it as a fusion of
all kinds of music.. something like that..

have you played that you liked? I'm looking for one
now. It will be a decent axe. I can't do a Gibson Les
Paul or anything, but it won't be junk either, lol.
